"To all the members of the Church, the people of life and for life, I make this most urgent appeal, that together we may offer this world of ours new signs of hope, and work to ensure that justice and solidarity will increase and that a new culture of human life will be affirmed, for the building of an authentic civilization of truth and love."
John Paul II, Evangelim Vitae, para. 6
People of Life shares the signs of hope about the growth of a new culture that welcomes, respects, and protects life. The campaign affirms our responsibility to love God and others and to protect the most vulnerable among us: the unborn, the elderly, and all whose lives are threatened.
The staff of the Secretariat of Pro-Life Activities supports the bishops’ role as teachers and pastors in proclaiming the Gospel of Life. Along with the members of People of Life, we implement the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities: A Campaign in Support of Life. This pastoral plan calls upon the Church—its people, services, and institutions—to pursue this effort in four major areas: public information and education, prayer and worship, public policy, and pastoral care. The work of the bishops includes priests, deacons, religious, and lay persons. We seek people like you, People of Life, who will collaborate in this important effort to build a culture that welcomes, respects and protects life. For news about the work of the bishops, and to help build a culture of life by making use of their resources, sign-up for the e-newsletter below and/or become a member through the direct mail action campaign.
