Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend Host Violins of Hope in Interfaith Prayer Service

On November 20, 2019, Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend led an interfaith prayer service alongside Rabbi Paula Jayne Winnig, interim clergy leader of Congregation Achduth Vesholom Jewish congregation in Fort Wayne. The two leaders drew from the Psalms throughout the program. Over 1000 guests attended the event featuring the Violins of Hope, a project that features instruments once played by Jewish victims of the Holocaust as a testament to defiance, resilience, and the legacy of Jewish musicians. The program was part of a nearly month long visit of the Violins of Hope to the Fort Wayne area. An in-depth article in Today's Catholic, the diocese's news outlet, featured the event.
