USCCB Announces Winner of Faithful Citizenship Ipod Drawing
WASHINGTON—The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) announced today that the winner of the Faithful Citizenship iPod drawing is Kathleen Robinson from St. Petersburg, Fla. The winner was randomly selected from 2,625 persons who entered in the contest between September 17 and November 4.
The iPod drawing was initiated in mid-September to encourage Catholics in the United States to visit and explore the Web site of Faithful Citizenship, the U.S. bishops' call to political responsibility, at www.faithfulcitizenship.org. The Web site is built around the U.S. bishops' call to political responsibility, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, which is released every four years. Catholics who registered on the Web site to stay notified about new Faithful Citizenship resources could enter the drawing to receive the iPod.
The drawing was part of an effort to make this year's statement more accessible to Catholics in the pews. For example, the Faithful Citizenship Web site highlights interactive features such as videos and downloadable podcasts, including the recently produced Novena for Faithful Citizenship.
Robinson said she usually visits the USCCB Web site to check movie reviews, but "When I saw the Faithful Citizenship link, I thought it would be a good site to find out about the elections." Robinson plans to give the iPod to a lucky friend or family member for Christmas.
