EJP works with several national Catholic organizations to promote standards which will better protect children from environmental toxins and, with allied organizations, to protect the poor from undue environmental harm.
EJP is committed to helping develop youth leadership programs. For example, EJP worked with the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry to develop a comprehensive environment program for young people that includes resources and training for adult youth leaders and youth themselves.
In recent years, EJP awarded regional grants from $4,000 to $25,000 to encourage dioceses to link together and develop local and regional environmental policy agendas, and to build the capacity to organize and be effective in the area of environmental public policy.
EJP awards parishes who make a commitment to care for and respect God's creation with a special certificate.
