This fifth International Symposium will be held on the week-end of the Feasts of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and of Saints Peter and Paul. It will discuss and promote John Paul II’s Theology of the Body within a general theme—Defending and Promoting Human Dignity in a Secular Age—centering around the 50th anniversary of the promulgation of Humanae Vitae.   • August 16-19, 2018, Teen STAR teacher training workshop was offered at the Franciscan Center, Tampa, FL. Teen STAR - Sexuality Teaching in the context of Adult Responsibility - uses experiential learning of the body's signs to facilitate discovering and "owning" one's fertility and sexuality thus supporting primary and secondary abstinence. Information at teenstarprogram@gmail.com. Teen STAR trainings also took place Sept. 13-16, 2018 in San Diego, CA, and will take place October 18-21, 2018 in Omaha, NE.
     
  • May 29-June 3, 2018,the Hildebrand Project hosted their 8th annual summer seminar at Franciscan University, Steubenville, OH. Entitled, Love, Sex and the Human Person, this academic seminar looked to the philosophical anthropology of Dietrich von Hildebrand and Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II to provide a foundation for thinking about love, sex, and marriage today. Both men sought to articulate a vision of the human person at once consistent with the deepest impulses of the Christian tradition and also informed by philosophical thinking that recognized the importance of the person.   • 2015 August 8: Contraceptive Conundrum: Effects and Side Effects, Georgetown University, Washington, DC. Vicki Thorn (one of the founders of Project Rachel), in collaboration with the Edmund D. Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics of Georgetown University's School of Medicine, is offering this one-day symposium. The conference is focused on the facts about contraception from a research-based point of view. It will explore the many negative side-effects and social outcomes.
