The U.S. Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities and the U.S. Bishops’ Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty, with the National Committee for a Human Life Amendment, are co-sponsoring the "Project Life and Liberty" postcard campaign.

At their annual meeting in November 2012, the U.S. bishops moved forward a plan to launch a nationwide postcard campaign led by the USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities and the USCCB Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty. The last postcard campaign (in 2009) generated tens of millions of postcards to Congress and yielded great results. Prompted by the Church’s pro-life and religious freedom concerns, the upcoming campaign will call on Congress to prevent federal funding and promotion of abortion and to protect rights of conscience in health care.

The campaign was launched in February and continues into the Fall of 2013, to urge Congress to protect human life and religious freedom when it approves funding bills for the new fiscal year that begins October 1.

Campaign logistics are coordinated in partnership with our National Committee for a Human Life Amendment (NCHLA) which handles the production, ordering and distribution of the postcards. Additionally, a nationwide bulletin insert is now available to download in both English (color, black-and-white) and Spanish (color, black-and-white) to introduce the postcard campaign, and an educational flyer is available when ordering postcards.

Each postcard strip, or set, includes 4 cards: one for the congressional representative, two for the senators, and one that will be returned to NCHLA, allowing parishioners to sign up for future alerts at the federal and state level. Previews are available of the postcards (English, Spanish) and the educational flyer (English, Spanish).
