Hunt is currently director of the USCCB Office of Human Resources. She will succeed Bruce Egnew in July. Both Egnew and Hunt have served on the USCCB staff since 1996.

“For the past 14 years, Linda has served the Conference with great distinction,” said Msgr. Ronny Jenkins, general secretary-elect of the USCCB, who made the appointment in consultation with the USCCB Executive Committee. “In her current position, Linda has played a key part in many aspects of the administration of the Conference, including the areas of information technology, finance, personnel management, benefits and pension analysis, and planning. She is greatly respected by Conference staff and has a talent for managing and motivating teams to accomplish necessary goals in pursuit of the Conference mission.”

In her new role, Hunt will function as an operations officer for the ongoing management of USCCB administration, which includes the offices of Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, General Services, National Collections and Human Resources. She will join associate general secretaries Nancy Wisdo and Father J. Brian Bransfield, along with general secretary Msgr. Jenkins, in conducting the regular business of the General Secretariat on behalf of the bishops.

Before coming to USCCB, Hunt worked in the business management field, including positions at the National Science Foundation and Greater Southeast Healthcare System, where she served in several capacities and ended her 12-year tenure there as the director of employee relations and benefit services.

Hunt holds a master’s degree in business and a graduate certificate in leadership development from The Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of the National Association of Church Personnel Administrators, on whose board she served for five years. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resources Management, and a past member of the Washington Human Resource Forum, the American Management Association, the American Society for Training and Development, and the Personnel Committee for Catholic Charities USA.
