The Seventh Day in the Octave of Christmas

  • "A virtue is an habitual and firm disposition to do the good. It allows the person not only to perform good acts, but to give the best of himself. The virtuous person tends toward the good with all his sensory and spiritual powers; he pursues the good and chooses it in concrete actions"—Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1803.
  • What specific virtue is God calling you to practice in the New Year? Patience, kindness, generosity—something else?  Read about the human and theological virtues in our online version of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  Just enter "1803" in the search box.
  • Resolve to strengthen your faith in the New Year as we continue the Year of Faith.  Here are a few suggestions:
Attend daily Mass at least once a week.
    Subscribe
to our RSS feed of the daily readings from the NAB.
Volunteer to help in your parish in a ministry where help is needed most.
