Prayers Before and After the Gospel

Deacon: Father, give me your blessing. Priest: The Lord be in your heart and on your lips that you may
worthily proclaim his gospel. In
the name of the Father, and of
the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.


Almighty God, cleanse my heart
and my lips that I may worthily
proclaim your holy Gospel.

May the words of the gospel
wipe away our sins.

Deacon: Your blessing, Father.


Priest: May the Lord be in your
heart and on your lips that you
may proclaim his Gospel
worthily and well, in the name
of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.

Cleanse my heart and my lips,
almighty God, that I may worthily
proclaim your holy Gospel.

Through the words of the
Gospel may our sins be wiped
away.
