Apostolic Decree for the 2024 World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly

An Apostolic Penitentiary, to increase the religion of the faithful and the salvation of souls, by virtue of the resources given to it by the Supreme Pontiff Francis, the Divine Providence of the Pope, paying attention to the prayers recently brought by His Excellency Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, on the occasion of the Fourth World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly on the fourth Sunday of July, which was already instituted by the Supreme Pontiff, but for the aforesaid episcopal conference for the United States of America is transferred to the first Sunday after the first holiday of September (which is called "Labor Day")... under heavenly treasures of the Church, Pope Francis generously grants a PLENARY INDULGENCE under the usual conditions (the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharistic Communion, and prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father) is given for the eighth day of September 2024...
