Dear Mr. Secretary:

The senseless killing of Sister Joan Sawyer, SSC together with eight inmates of the Lurigancho Prison in Lima, Peru on December 13 demands a strong response from our Embassy in that country.

I ask you to join with the Archbishop of Lima, Cardinal Juan Landazuri Ricketts, in protesting this atrocity and demanding a thorough and impartial investigation.
