Letter from Bishop Frank J. Caggiano and Bishop Robert Barron to U.S. Bishops regarding national survey in Catholic high schools (2017)
Letter from Bishop Frank J. Caggiano, Chairman, USCCB Subcommittee on the Catechism and Bishop Robert Barron, Chairman, USCCB Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis to U.S. Bishops regarding national survey in Catholic high schools, December 5, 2017
As chairman of the Subcommittee on the Catechism, I am writing you along with Bishop Robert Barron, chairman of the Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis. As your brother bishops, we seek your support and assistance in conducting a national survey in every high school in your diocese, your diocesan superintendent, high school principals, high school theology department heads, and a sampling of high school theology teachers, as well as brief survey for you as the diocesan bishop.
In 2007, the Bishops of the United States unanimously approved the creation of the High School Doctrinal Curriculum Framework, which was implemented in 2011. Seven years after its implementation, we find it necessary to assess the implementation and usefulness of the framework in service to all diocesan bishops in the religious formation of high school students of their diocese. Today, we wish to seek your support in the completion a national survey we are conducting through Vinea Research. By encouraging participation in the national survey, you will assist us to reach your diocesan staff.
