V Encuentro Proceedings and Conclusions

166 | Proceedings and Conclusions of the V National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry • Development. The development team, led by Joe Citro and Yolanda Taylor-Burwell , worked with the Padrinos and supporting foundations to secure funding for the entire V Encuentro process, to provide scholarships for some of the delegates, and to ensure adequate funding for all aspects of the V Encuentro National Event. This team was also responsible for exhib- itor relations. • Liturgies and Prayer Services. Fr. Andrew Menke and Pedro Rubalcava headed the team assigned to secure the rights for music and print resources, prepare the worship aid, orga- nize the liturgies, and coordinate homilists, liturgical ministers, and musicians. • Special Events. The special events team, with oversight by Dcn. Bernie Nojadera and Joel Rodríguez , prepared and coordinated the volunteers and organized receptions, excursions, entertainment, and other activities that were not part of the main program for the V Encuentro National Event. • Bishops and VIPs. Headed initially by Jeannine Marino and later by David Corrales and Juan Rendon , this team organized volunteers to accompany the bishops, international guests, and other VIPs to ensure their full participation in the process and provide any support they might need. • Ministerial Area Sessions. For each of the 28 Ministerial Area Sessions on Saturday after- noon, one USCCB staff person and one member of ENAVE were assigned to coordinate the session. Two bishops were invited to accompany each session and provide opening/closing remarks, and a small panel of national experts provided an orientation. Ivone Guillen , Paul Jarzembowski , and Ken Johnson-Mondragón provided support for panelist clearance and session guidelines/materials. ERAVE members consisted of the Regional Chairs or Co-Chairs, and they immediately formed Regional Teams consisting of Diocesan Chairs from their member dioceses and other members from Hispanic ministry organizations within each Region. This body of Diocesan Chairs and lead- ers became known collectively as EDAVE – the Equipos Diocesanos de Acompañamiento al V Encuentro (“Diocesan Teams of Accompaniment for the V Encuentro ”). As the vision for the V Encuentro process and the training materials took form, the Regional Teams began a process of fostering the formation of Diocesan Teams and providing orienta- tion and formation to them. The Diocesan Teams in turn formed teams for parishes, schools, and movements in the diocese, providing them with formation and support to carry out the grassroots sessions and Parish Encuentros.
