She will be able to attract young people, for her unity is not monolithic, but rather a network of varied gifts that the Spirit ceaselessly pours out upon her, renewing her and lifting her up from her poverty.” ( Christus Vivit , 206-207) In the convergence of the V Encuentro with these three large efforts to understand and shape the Catholic Church’s mission and ministries among the young, the movement of the Holy Spirit can clearly be discerned. Numerous additional efforts to address particular needs or situations in Hispanic/Latino youth and young adult ministries are currently under way or being formulated as a response to the V Encuentro; some of them can be found in Appendix G on pages 213-220. The long-term legacy of these efforts has yet to be defined, but there can be no doubt that the current and future generations of young Latinos will be the beneficiaries of a new awakening in the Church to their needs, hopes and dreams, and contributions for the evangelization of the world.
