V Encuentro Proceedings and Conclusions

28 | Proceedings and Conclusions of the V National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry evangelization through community build- ing, missionary activity, and consulta- tion—particularly by engaging people in the peripheries. The five small-group sessions of the V Encuentro process have now been adapted for use by all Catholics in the country. In addition, the process has inspired numerous local initiatives for the new evangelization and social outreach to Hispanics/Latinos. • Many Hispanic/Latino leaders have been recognized for the good work and the results they have achieved through the V Encuentro process. Their leadership has made an impact beyond Hispanic ministry and they now have more access to human and financial resources. Going from part- time to full-time, inclusion in the bishop’s cabinet, and new Hispanic ministry posi- tions in parishes and dioceses are some examples of how Hispanic leadership is being affirmed. • The V Encuentro is engaging stakehold- ers in developing new strategies for faith formation and leadership development in the Church, particularly among Hispanic young adults and those ministering among Hispanic youth and young adults. In particular, it has stimulated the devel- opment of resources that respond to the spiritual and social needs of Hispanic Catholics through publishers, national organizations, and educational institu- tions, each responding in accordance with their own mission and in proportion to their means.
