V Encuentro Proceedings and Conclusions

Proceedings and Conclusions of the V National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry | 69 T hroughout the V Encuentro process, open-ended feedback on the pasto- ral care and accompaniment of the Hispanic/Latino community was solicited, analyzed, and summarized. Based on this feed- back, ten Ministerial Areas stood out as being of greatest importance for every Diocese and every Episcopal Region. During the Inter- regional Sessions, the delegates were provided an opportunity to discuss the ways they them- selves would commit to advancing the mis- sionary action of the Church in one of the top Ministerial Areas of their own choosing, as well as the ways they would like to see the Church respond as an institution nationwide. These two pages document the generous response of the delegates to the priority needs they have rec- ognized in their own communities. We, the assembled delegates at the V National Encuentro of Hispanic/ Latino Ministry: • Will continue going forth with joy to the peripheries of our communities, to listen deeply to the hearts of those who no lon- ger feel close to the Church, to invite them to receive the welcoming embrace of the People of God and the sacraments, and to accompany them in their joys and sorrows. • Will take the initiative to set an example of involvement, participation, and perse- verance for others in the community. At times of transition such as the change of a pastor or when difficulties and dis- agreements arise in the community, we will be bridge-people for continuity and consensus.
