82 | Proceedings and Conclusions of the V National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry dimension of their lives. To do this well, it may be necessary to provide ongoing formation for the clergy or listening sessions with com- munity members to help them understand the cultural and social reality and support the traditions and celebrations that give life and meaning to the people. There was also a con- sensus on the need for liturgical catechesis, with a focus on presenting this information in a dynamic and engaging way to the youth and young adults, to help the people fully understand and live the liturgy. J. VOCATIONS The delegates in the session on Vocations were united in their consensus on four recommendations: 1. The promotion of ecclesial vocations must begin in families, and parents require bilingual tools and support from the parish to help them discuss, pray for, and encourage vocational discernment among their children. 2. Vocational materials should address all vocations, including lay ecclesial ministry, marriage and family, and the committed single life. It is especially important today to include formation on the theology of the body, Amoris Laetitia, and the Catholic vision of marriage and family life, because so many couples are living together or starting families without sacramental marriage. 3. Hispanic/Latino youth and young adult ministries should incorporate an explicit process of vocational discernment through the development of a personal life project and habits of prayer, including prayer and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. 4. Vocations offices should be more intentional about making contact with the Hispanic/Latino community, providing retreats, and extending invitations in Spanish and English. Formation for the permanent diaconate should also be available in Spanish throughout the country. Recommendations
