The Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States:

The Society for the Propagation of the Faith

Holy Childhood Association

Society of St. Peter Apostle

Missionary Union of Priests and Religious

The Pontifical Mission Societies have, as their primary purpose, the promotion of a universal missionary spirit - a spirit of prayer and sacrifice - among all baptized Catholics. The first three Societies, in carrying out that goal, invite baptized Catholics to express their missionary commitment by offering their prayers, personal sacrifices and financial support for the work of the Church in the Missions. The Missionary Union of Priests and Religious works to deepen mission awareness among priests, men and women Religious, catechists and educators so that they are fully prepared to take on the mission formation of the faithful.

United States Catholic Mission Association

The United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) is a community of faith leaders engaged in networking, formation, and advocacy for God’s mission.

Founded in 1981, the roots of USCMA date back to the former Mission Secretariat of the US Bishops (1948-1970) and the United States Catholic Mission Council (1970-1980). Members include religious congregations, lay associations, diocesan offices, parishes, and individuals committed to living and proclaiming the Gospel globally and locally through evangelizing and prophetic ministries of encounter, solidarity, and pastoral accompaniment. USCMA supports these efforts by fostering collaboration, spiritual growth, and ministerial development among those engaged in global, intercultural, and social mission, as well as promoting a culture of mission within the US Church.
