This directory is organized alphabetically by the United States. The Roman Catholic dioceses are listed alphabetically within each state. After this section, the Archdiocese of the Military Services and the Diocese of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands follow. The Eastern Catholic churches comprise the last section and are alphabetically arranged.
Roman Catholic diocesan Marriage and Family Life ministry is often its own department within a Roman Catholic diocese. Sometimes, Marriage and Family Life ministry can be found in offices of Evangelization or Faith Formation. In addition, some dioceses may organize this ministry through the bishop's office or another office such as that of the Vicar General, Chancellor, or Judicial Vicar. The director reflects this diversity and provides the name of the staff responsible for Marriage and Family Life Ministry.
Natural Family Planning (NFP) services are most often provided by a diocese's Marriage and Family Life ministry. Like Marriage and Family Life ministry itself, NFP services can be found operating in other diocesan departments and even Catholic hospitals. Regardless of where it is situated in the diocesan structure, it is the NFP coordinator (or contact person) who administers the program. To find an NFP class in your local area, choose the appropriate state and diocese and contact the person listed for your diocese.
Please note: due to the variety of schools and systems of NFP methods, this directory makes use of the general terms, Cervical Mucus Methods (CMM), Sympto-Hormonal Method (SHM), and Sympto-Thermal Methods (STM) to indicate which general NFP methods are provided in a diocese.
